TastingRoom.com | Mario Batali’s Selection
One of the fun things about TastingRoom.com’s tasting samplers is that we can imagine we’re tasting with the celebrity personality right in our living room. Mario Batali’s tasting set started off incredibly strong, but wilted as it geared toward the finish.
We expected his wines to be a bit off, just like his orange crocs and they were. I distinctly recalled Amavi Cellars from our Woodenville tasting a couple years back.
Looking forward to our final two sets, and of course that glass of Silver Oak.
TastingRoom.com | Tour of New Zealand Set
This set was a lot of fun. It included an entire new set of producers that I was unfamiliar with, in addition it also included a Pinot Gris which is always fun.
A set contains 6 wines bounded by a theme - in this case, “New Zealand”
We started off with a two Sauvignon Blancs which were a stark contrast to the stuff we consume here in Napa, and Central Valley. Then it moves to a Pinot Gris, two Pinot Noirs which perked my interest into trying more New Zealand PNs, then finishes with a medium body sweet Riesling.
A great collection of not so expensive wines, at a very reasonable and entertaining format.
TastingRoom.com | Gary Vaynerchuck - Wine for Dudes Sampler
So, as I opened the door yesterday I was greeted with *BOOM* a stash of wine from TastingRoom.com. I dug through hungrily and although I couldn’t wait to dive in, their insistence of drink now not later was all I needed to tear through a sampler.

After looking through we decided to taste with Gary V. How’d he do? Well, look at the first photo.

Were the wines manly? They sure were. Looking forward to going through the other boxes soon!
